Traditional notebooks were built for data practitioners looking to work with Python, but they arenโt accessible to the vast majority of people who work with data โ such as the millions of SQL users out there! Hex is a compelling alternative for data teams looking to solve data problems with speed and collaboration. Hex was built on a low floor, high ceiling philosophy โ itโs accessible to anyone, without constraining the most technical users.
Finally, SQL, Python, R, and no-code users can work together in the same collaborative workspace.
Hex is a hosted notebook solution that was created to drive real-time, multiplayer collaboration. Any number of data practitioners can work together to solve a data problem within a project. Any number of stakeholders can freely view the outputs of that project as an interactive data app. Gone are the days of static screenshots of charts or weekly emailed report outputs. And alas, no more concerns over version controls or reproducibility.
"I was content with Jupyter notebooks and didn't know that there was something better out there, but got my hands on Hex and said, โWow, this fills a huge hole that I didn't know that I had, but now I do. And I'm grateful to have it."
Adam Whitaker, GTM Analytics Lead

"We wanted a tool as powerful and flexible as Jupyter notebooks, as shareable and collaborative as Google Sheets, and as scalable as an enterprise BI platform. Itโs a little on-the-nose, but thatโs how I view Hex."
Alex Sacco, Sr. Director of DataOps and Analytics

"The analytical work we do in Hex simply wouldn't have the same impact if it was hidden away in Jupyter notebooks."

gotta say, being able to upload a bunch of CSVs directly into a notebook, import them with pandas, and wrangle them in SQL is kind of a dream (ty Hex)
OKAAAAAY @_hex_tech's chained SQL is amazing. I am absolutely a CTE over-user and i've been trying to give chained SQL a chance and it's pretty great for overall workflow speed & debugging your queries. THANK YOU HEX.
Just recently digging into @_hex_tech and the flexibility to minimize hard coding is game changing. Such as: I can declare a variable and then use it within conditional formatting much later in the notebook. Huge win for keeping dashboards clean.
.@_hex_tech out here reading my mind with the dark mode drop. Was literally writing css in a chrome extension for this yesterday. Yall keep bringing the ๐ฅ๐ฅ
@_hex_tech notebooks on a daily basis!
not me looking for excuses just to use @_hex_tech for those clean data visualisations. it's like literally having super powers for data analytics
I am not bias and I have not seen the kind of love and admiration for Hex since the glory days of Looker.
Okay I always complain about notebooks but I hereby declare myself a @_hex_tech fan ๐คฉ
Huge fan of hex
First time trying @_hex_tech and I am mind-blown. I thought it is a clever notebook but this is a full fledged development environment for business data apps. ๐๐๐
getting p tired of having to hit refresh because @_hex_tech is shipping so many updates
wooowweew @_hex_tech swag unbeatable
updating an upstream cell in @_hex_tech and seeing it all update is truly some 2022 stuff
Today's Matcha courtesy of our friends at @_hex_tech
nothing like firing up @_hex_tech on a friday night for some good ole household budget planning. (me: 'you can work in excel, i am using hex' her: ๐)
I've tried to embed Google Data Studio reports in the past and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. @_hex_tech feature drops truly make data people's lives a whole ๐ lot ๐ better ๐
You need to get access to @_hex_tech
Canโt even describe all the time thatโs been wasted trying to find old information weโd gathered or getting new people up to speed. Knowledge management is ESSENTIAL for fast-paced startups. Amazing feature @_hex_tech !! ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
I really, genuinely think this is where @_hex_tech shines. I used to be staunchly anti-Jupyter notebook for analyses and light data viz until using the product!
finally had two hours to play around with @_hex_tech before the end of the year
as someone who learned python before sql, this is a delightful experience - keep the awesomeness coming team!
Hex is the best Jupyter notebook solution for the enterprise today IMHO. They consistently innovate and focus on the right things.
we're an early adopter of Hex here at Sunrise and it's been a godsend for our analytics reporting. our analysts can pull from the warehouse, create their data viz, and write their report to share with our organizers all in one place
