Hex’s Magic tools allow anyone to go from natural language to data answer – whether it’s generating Python, editing SQL queries, or building no-code data visualizations. This includes our new Ask Magic feature, which makes it easy to discover existing analyses, or generate new ones, with just a prompt!

We already have hundreds of customers who use Hex with Snowflake, backing their most critical data workloads with the world’s leading cloud-native data warehouse. And now, they can back their AI workloads with Snowflake too, via Cortex – their platform for deploying and managing generative AI models. Among the great things about Cortex is that customers can use LLMs within their Snowflake instance, without having to set up additional infrastructure or security reviews.

Already, Hex users can take advantage of Cortex in their analytical projects by calling functions in SQL and adding the Cortex API to their Python cells.

And now, Anthropic’s leading models are coming to Cortex! Claude 3.5 Sonnet is renowned for its generation and reasoning skills (and has become an indispensable part of many of our workflows internally), and very soon customers will be able to use it directly from Snowflake.

Soon, shared customers will be able to opt into backing Hex’s Magic with Claude 3.5 on Cortex – tapping into cutting-edge intelligence and reasoning from within their existing Data Cloud instance. This will offer organizations an enhanced degree of control, governance, and observability, without compromising on quality.

Right now, if you're using Hex, you can already tap into Cortex for your projects. You can use it in SQL functions or add it to your Python code, bringing AI intelligence to your existing data work.

But we’re not stopping there. Hex Magic lets you start with just a question and does all the heavy lifting. It finds the data, creates models, makes predictions, and shares what it found - all without you having to write a single line of code. These features will now be able to leverage Claude in Cortex - which means if you're a Snowflake customer, your data remains within your snowflake account.

We’re working with the Snowflake and Anthropic teams to roll this out over the next few months – if you’re interested please get in touch (email [email protected])! In the meantime, you can learn more about our Magic tools.

This is something we think a lot about at Hex, where we're creating a platform that makes it easy to build and share interactive data products which can help teams be more impactful.
