Software agents are forcing many to question the role of user interfaces – including many who say it will cause them to disappear entirely.
At Hex, we disagree – and today are introducing our biggest redesign ever. In fact, we believe it’s the boldest redesign in the history of software.

Pure Glass is a revolutionary new design system that makes Hex more expressive, delightful, and clear. It’s made of a translucent material that allows you to see through the product – revealing the content underneath.
“At Hex, we’ve always believed in pushing the boundaries of our interfaces,” said Adam Storr, Hex’s Executive Senior Vice President of Global Design. “With Pure Glass, we’re questioning what those boundaries even are.”
Buttons lose their distracting borders and contrast, and blend with the content around them. Menus reflect the properties of the materials underneath.

And Pure Glass is coming to every part of the Hex product – including visualizations, which are no longer cluttered by structure or contrast. Now, insights are as transparent and clear as the rest of the interface.
“Design is at the heart of everything we do at Hex,” said Barry McCardel, CEO. “We cannot wait to unleash this bold new direction on our user base.”
